Let the Work Speak Your Name on SND2025

Posted 9 days ago by Lisa Flanagan

Nurses rarely seek recognition—but your impact deserves it. As we take a moment to acknowledge all you do, I wanted to share these words with you:

Let the Work Speak Your Name

Dear MASN Members,

You don't do it for the praise. You do it because it matters. Still—we see you. And as we take a moment to recognize the work you do, I wanted to share this with you:

Permission (for nurses)

You didn’t ask for attention. You showed up. You charted, listened, advocated, cleaned up, caught things others missed, stayed when others left.

So when someone says thank you— really says it— don’t brush it off. Don’t change the subject.

Recognition isn’t ego. It’s acknowledgment. Of steady hands. Of quiet instincts. Of being the calm in someone’s worst day.

This moment isn’t about pride. It’s about truth. About letting the work speak your name aloud.

Let it.

Thank you for showing up. Thank you for staying. Your work matters more than words can say.
