New MASN President elected at 2023 Fall Conference in Billings, MT

Posted almost 2 years ago

Karen Graf's choice to forgo a second term as president was driven by her dedication to a pivotal role at NASN, where she undertook the position of Nursing Education and Practice Specialist. This transition created the opening for Lisa Flanagan, a school nurse in Missoula, MT, to be elected as her successor.

Karen has served in multiple leadership roles within MASN, including her role as President and Montana's NASN Director. Her extensive experience, unwavering commitment to school nursing and student well-being, and her leadership during the challenging times of the COVID pandemic have been deeply appreciated. MASN is privileged to continue benefiting from Karen's insights in her new capacity at NASN, and we look forward to her continued advocacy for the state of Montana school nurses on the national stage.

Lisa is a school nurse in Missoula, MT.  She has served as the MASN Board Secretary since 2018.  Her career path has included working in a critical access hospital, for nearly 20 years in a Level III NICU, as a neonatal transport team member, NICU Staff Development Coordinator, EHR subject matter expert, online digital manager, and a school nurse for 10 years now in a AA school district.  She recently completed her Master of Science in Nursing Education and maintains her NCSN certification.

As per MASN Bylaws, the transition of responsibilities occurred at the conclusion of the Fall Conference.  Both Karen and Lisa can be contacted through the MASN Contact Us form.  MASN members can view their direct contact information in the member section of SchoolNurseNet.
